Stephanie N. Brown, MS, OTR/L

Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from The State University of New York at Stony Brook in Long Island, New York.  After graduation she spent some time in Honolulu, Hawaii and the Mississippi coast training dolphins, as well as studying their behavior and cognition.  A change of heart about pursing a Ph.D. in experimental psychology led her to North Carolina.  Stephanie began her occupational therapy observations with the Wake County Public Schools and Duke University Hospital, where she fell in love with pediatrics.  She received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008 (Go Tar Heels!).  After graduating, Stephanie worked as a preschool transition evaluator in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and treated at a preschool for children with special needs in Long Island, New York.  She enjoys working with all children, but especially those with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, and fine and gross motor delays.  Stephanie also has a tremendous interest in animal-assisted therapy and yoga therapy. 

Outside of work Stephanie enjoys traveling, going to the beach, practicing yoga, social activities, food shopping, sailing, and watching the Tar Heels basketball team win the National Championship!
