Roxanne Long, B.A., Developmental Therapist

Roxanne became credentialed as an Infant Toddler and Family Specialist after completing her Birth-Kindergarten licensure at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Most recently, she completed a one year partnership program with WakeMed’s Hospital to Home Infant Program, which concentrated on development and care for premature infants. In addition to her concentration with premature infants, Roxanne has extensive experience working with children with various special needs that include autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, sensory integration disorder, speech disorders and delays, and difficult behaviors. She has also worked as an Early Childhood Educator in a classroom setting for more than 5 years.

As a Parents as Teachers Educator, and mother of her own two children, Roxanne enjoys mentoring families and implementing strategies to strengthen their parenting skills. She focuses on discipline strategies, setting goals to reach developmental milestones, and integrating children with special needs into typical life events.

Roxanne has a special appreciation for families of diverse cultures after living in Paris, France for almost two years. She enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her two children.
