Megan Hardisty, MSPT
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995, Megan earned a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Duke University in 1997. Following graduation, she relocated to Knoxville, TN where she worked at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital for over 10 years. During that time, Megan gained experience with a wide variety of patient populations in multiple settings, including acute and critical care, neonatal intensive care, inpatient brain injury rehabilitation, outpatient, aquatics, and home health care. Megan has experience working with clients with diagnoses including cerebral palsy, developmental and genetic disorders, pulmonary disease, blood and bone cancers, torticollis, sensory integration disorders, and other neuromuscular disorders. She has participated in several multi-disciplinary specialty clinics including Cystic Fibrosis, Spasticity, Rheumatology, Botox, and Seating/Equipment clinics. She has pursued additional training in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) techniques, Sensory Integration (SI) theory and treatment, pediatric aquatics, pediatric Myofascial Release, and pediatric orthopedics. Since returning to North Carolina in 2008, Megan has been working with pediatric clients in home and community settings through Early Intervention programs.
