Marianne Curley, COTA/L

Marianne is a certified occupational therapy assistant with 12+ years of experience. She has worked in a variety of settings and with a variety of diagnoses. Previously, Marianne worked for a school system in special education serving students diagnosed with learning disabilities, as well as with students labeled as severely and profoundly handicapped. She treated children with developmental delays while working for Child Developmental Services in Maine in an inclusionary preschool. Marianne’s experience also includes working for nine years at a day treatment facility run by Goodwill Industries for individuals with traumatic brain injury. At Pediatric Therapy Associates she enjoys the opportunity to provide services to children at Hilltop Home (a residential facility for severely and profoundly handicapped children), in our Raleigh and Wake Forest offices, and in the natural environment by doing home visits for children enrolled in the Early Intervention Program.

Marianne has completed specialized training in the Handwriting Without Tears program. Using her knowledge from the course and her extensive experience in this area, she has developed a very popular and highly successful handwriting camp for Pediatric Therapy Associates. Marianne runs the camps year round and works with various groups with needs ranging from pre-writing skills to independent writing skills.

In her free time, Marianne enjoys exercising daily, traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
