Dena Agapito, MS, OTR/L

Dena earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science from Appalachian State University in 2007 and a Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from Winston Salem State University in 2009.  As a student, she had the opportunity to complete a clinical rotation at Pediatric Therapy Solutions in Brevard, NC.  During that time, she extended her knowledge of pediatrics and increased her interest in working with children in the outpatient, public school system, and early intervention settings. Dena began her career in skilled nursing with the elderly and also with adults in the inpatient rehabilitaton setting, but has always desired to return to working with children.  Dena has experience working with a wide range of diagnoses including: sensory integration dysfunctions, autism spectrum disorders, feeding and handwriting difficulties, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, oppositional defiant disorders, fine motor and other developmental delays.  Dena hopes to increase her area of expertise to include Kids Yoga, Interactive Metronome, Therapeautic Listening, and the Alert Program and would like to pursue her certification in “Handwriting Without Tears.”

Dena provides therapy services in our Cary office.  She is a newlywed who recently moved to Raleigh.  She enjoys spending time with her husband, church activities, dancing, hiking, reading, practicing yoga, cooking, and watching movies.
