Cheryl Stephenson, M.S., CCC-SLP

Cheryl graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders and a Minor in Sociology. She then went to East Carolina University to obtain a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. Cheryl has worked exclusively in pediatrics in a variety of settings including home health, schools, preschools, daycares, inpatient hospital, and outpatient clinics.  She joined the therapists at Pediatric Therapy Associates in June 2004.  Cheryl has expertise in the evaluation and treatment of children with a variety of diagnoses including autism spectrum disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, Down syndrome, traumatic brain injury, developmental delay, specific language impairment, articulation/phonological disorders, cleft lip and palate, fluency disorders, and oral motor/feeding/swallowing disorders.  She is trained to provide therapy using The Picture Exchange Communication System, also known as PECS.  In addition, Cheryl is a Hanen Certified Speech-Language Pathologist and has completed the It Takes Two to Talk certification workshop. 

Cheryl provides therapy services in our Raleigh office.  In her free time she enjoys spending time at the beach, being with friends and family, scuba diving, running, and traveling.  She and her husband live in Raleigh with their German Shorthaired Pointer.
