Carrie Barnes, M.A., CCC-SLP

Carrie received her Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Washington State University and her Master of Arts in Communication Disorders from Appalachian State University. Carrie completed research and a Master’s Thesis on the topic of the effects of joint attention intervention on the language development of preschoolers with autism. Carrie has experience working with adults and children in a variety of settings, including public schools, private clinics, and rehabilitation facilities. She has had experience working with children on the autism spectrum, children with expressive/receptive language disorders, articulation/phonological disorders, chromosome disorders, developmental delays, fluency disorders, oral motor weakness, cochlear implants, and profound hearing loss.

Carrie enjoys traveling, musicals, reading, crafts, history, outdoor sports, animals, and spending time with family and friends.
