Bonnie Essig, M.S., PT
Bonnie joined Pediatric Therapy Associates in 2007. She provides physical therapy services in the natural environment to children enrolled in the Early Intervention Program (ages birth to 3 years). Bonnie received a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1998. Upon graduating, she worked in a private school serving children with special needs such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities and traumatic brain injuries. She gained extensive experience with aquatic therapy, adaptive seating equipment and orthotics. She then switched her focus to providing early intervention services to families in their homes and clinic settings. Bonnie has experience evaluating and treating children with prematurity, genetic syndromes, visual impairments, hypotonia and other global gross motor and developmental delays. She has taken many continuing education courses including NDT and Sensory Integration.
Bonnie currently provides therapy in the Wake Forest and North Raleigh areas. In her free time, Bonnie enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering at her children’s schools, and attending her children’s sporting activities.
