Megan Watson, M.S., CCC-SLP

Megan Watson

Megan received a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Appalachian State University in 2009.  A proud ASU alumna, she continued her education at ASU to obtain a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2011.  Born with an abundance of energy, and an ever-inquisitive mind, Megan found her niche in serving the pediatric population within the private practice clinical setting. In addition to utilizing both formal and informal measures of assessment to evaluate and diagnose, Megan also has experience in providing skilled intervention services to children exhibiting a wide range of impairments, including (but not limited to): articulation/phonological processing disorders, apraxia of speech, language disorders, learning disabilities, developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, pragmatic/social language disorders, augmentative and alternative communication needs, and dysfluency.  Megan is trained in PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and LAMP (Language Acquisition through Motor Planning) to assist numerous children and their families in: obtaining, developing, and implementing high/low tech AAC options. While Megan enjoys working with all children with speech and language disorders, she has developed a growing passion for helping children with dyslexia discover the joys of reading.  Megan pulls from a variety of methodologies (e.g. Orton-Gillingham, Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing (LiPS), Visualizing/Verbalizing) to facilitate increased sensory-cognitive function as it pertains to a child’s phonemic awareness development.
