Amy Michael

Amy received a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication with a concentration in Communication Disorders from Meredith College in 2002.  She obtained a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from East Carolina University in 2004.  Amy has experience in the evaluation and treatment of articulation and phonological delays, receptive and expressive language delays, oral motor and feeding issues, childhood apraxia of speech, literacy, and fluency disorders.  In addition, she has experience with children with a variety of diagnoses including autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, developmental delay, and cerebral palsy. Amy has specialized training in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets), PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), Visualizing & Verbalizing, and the Orton Gillingham method of reading instruction.  She has worked in home, preschool, and clinic settings.
